FAQs
What do I do with my stuff (Photos, Documents, CDs, etc) after you finished digitizing?
To be honest, whatever you want. You can still keep them in storage, you can shred them or put them in a bonfire, or you can move them into longer-term storage where they don’t take up any of you regular working space, our service will just revitalize them and make them accessible to you as a digital backup, so that if the originals were to be destroyed, you still have a way to access them.
How do I get my things to you?
You can either schedule a time to meetup if you are in Albuquerque, or you can ship them directly to us. For photos, we recommend packing loose photos, or those in envelopes in acid-free bags (the plastic used for zip-lock type bags has less than 1 part per 1000 acid content, which is just as much as archival paper scrap-booking envelopes which can be labelled as “Acid-Free”) and then securely into a cardboard box. CDs in hard plastic jewel cases should be wrapped in some kind of protective layer inside of a box, such as bubble wrap or paper. DVDs and Blu-rays are likely secure in their soft-plastic shells when packed in a box.
Our address is a secure PO Box, which requires an associate of Re:Memories to pick any packages up Face-to-Face. You handle the shipping cost to us, and provided you want your originals sent back, we handle the shipping back to you after your invoice has been paid.
If you have too many things to ship, it is possible that we can come pick up the job from you, but for an added cost.
What do I do with these digital files?
So many things! We can back your revitalized photos onto a digital frame, or set them up as a cycling background to your TV or computer monitors!
Music can be made to load into a music player, or onto a digital server so you can access and listen to your music from everywhere!
We can help you set up media server software with all your data on an External Hard Drive, so that you can access your video files from anywhere as long as your external hard drive and computer are on.
We can make copies of your photos and home movies onto SD Cards or thumb drives and send as many out to your family members as you want, so everyone can have a copy of your shared precious memories. (Note, does not pertain to copyrighted materials.)
I have so many photos and CDs, it overwhelming, do you offer any discounts?
We certainly do! For every 500 items we digitize for you, you get 5% off up to 25% off! That means if you have 2500+ Photos/CDs to digitize, you’d get a 25% bulk discount on your entire order!
For orders that don’t meet the bulk discount scenario, we also offer a 10% discount to active military and veterans.
Why should I bother backing up my pictures, video, audio and documents?
Believe it or not, all physical media formats have a lifespan, and some of those formats (Like VHS, 8-Track, Cassettes, Film Negatives, etc.) won’t be around much longer, so if you want to have these files backed up before they succumb to entropy, we can keep them preserved and archived for generations to come.
